ISOA Award

 

ISOA sets aside a sum of money each year for the purpose of making grants/donations towards causes/charities related to the maritime sector and/or to assist with the welfare of seafarers.

 

ISOA members at their annual meeting select an appropriate cause or organisation to receive the ISOA Annual Award, based on nominations received from ISOA members. Often the cause has a particular association with the country where the annual meeting is being held.

 

In recent years, awards have been made to the following associations:

2015 Mission to Seafarers, Dubai

2014 Seamen’s Church Institute (USA)

2013 Aberdeen Seafarers Centre

2012 Mission to Seafarers, Suape

2012 Stella Maris Centre, Rio de Janeiro.

* Il Porto dei piccoli is a charity set up by maritime companies in Genoa which provides activities to support children with serious illness being treated at a well known children's hospital in Genoa, and for their families.
